LinkedIn Hits 50 Million Members in Asia Pacific, 5 Million In Australia

 

While there are 5 million accounts in Oz, 3.3 million are active on a monthly basis.

Guess what ? LinkedIn is not blocked in China, whereas most other social networks are in fact blocked. Go figure.

Yet, China ‘only’ has 4 million users.

Twitter To Shut Down Their Music App

 

Now, this probably wont affect many people .. hence probably the reason for the shutdown in the first place.

Less than a year old, Twitter’s music app for iOS that provided us with music recomendations from our friends and followers will be shutdown on April 18.

 

LinkedIn to Remove Products & Services Tab From All Company Pages

 

This is what LinkedIn had to say.

”You have two alternatives for sharing products and services content that many companies are already using and benefiting from: your company’s updates and showcase pages.”

“On April 14, LinkedIn will be “removing the Products & Services tab from all company pages. In the meantime, you can edit your Products & Services content, but you won’t be able to add new items.”

Now this has been in the works for awhile, it is unclear what the long term plan is but LinkedIn is not afraid to tinker.

 

Twitter Rolls Out Photo Tagging on Mobile

 

“You can tag up to 10 people in a photo and still have all 140 characters at your disposal, making it easier to connect with your friends.”

If you are the one getting tagged, you will receive a notification.

Twitter Allows Users to Share Four Photos in a Single Tweet

 

“You can also share a series of photos that automatically create a collage.”

This new functionality automatically creates a collage, and will be rolled out on iOS first then Android.

Facebook Expands Lookalike Audience Capabilities

 

Advertisers can now “create lookalikes based on people who visit their websites, use their mobile apps or are connected to their Facebook pages.”

So, if you want to :

1) Find more people who look like your website visitors
2) Find more people who look like your mobile app users or
3) Find more people who look like your Facebook fans

this is the funtionality you want to take advantage of.

Benefits include : decreasing your cost per lead, and increasing prospect and customer engagement

Tumblr Introduces Two-Factor Authentication
